From the GM

2nd February 2010

Well, can you believe you are into February already.   January was a very busy month for many members, with a number of Youth & Adult camps being held across the country.  I must congratulate all those branches that conducted schools over the School Holidays.  A lot of work and preparation goes into the running of these events.  It goes without saying that the support from volunteers is invaluable.  Thank you.

As you would all be aware, Membership renewals were due 31st December.  The team at Head Office have been very busy with processing and handling enquiries.  I apologise for any delays members maybe experiencing in receiving their 2010 renewal.

This month the 3rd Landmark Classic Campdraft Sale is taking place at AELEC in Tamworth.  There are 470 horses catalogued, with over 300 of these being registered Australian Stock Horses.  I will be at the event from Wednesday through to Sunday. Wednesday and Thursday I will be assisting with the inspections of the sale entries.   Several staff members will also be attending the event from Friday through to Sunday.  Call in a say hello at the Australian Stock Horse Society trade stand.
Please note,  whilst the Society is supportive of the sale, this is not an Approved ASHS sale.

Preparations are underway for the March Board meeting.  This meeting is set down for 1st & 2nd March 2010 at Scone.

Fountain of Youth Sale nomination closing date has been extended to 26th February 2010. This sale is for 2 years and Yearlings.  The incentive for these horses at their respective National Futurity is as follows:-
